ABOUT US

History

Gierisch Brothers Motor Company, Ltd. was established on January 3rd, 1966 by Carl and Dorman Gierisch. With the help of their older brother, Edmund, the brothers built a 30x50, 3-bay metal building which served them for many years. In 1973, the Auto Supply opened up to the public for business. A few years later, in 1975, Carl bought out his brother, Dorman and became sole owner. Since then, Carl built a new shop in 1986 which was a 60x80 4-bay shop that housed the two businesses of Gierisch Brothers Motor Co, Ltd. and Roanoke Auto Supply, Ltd. until 2009, when Carl built a new state-of-the-art facility on the same block. It is an 80x120 10-bay auto repair facility. Roanoke Auto Supply, Ltd. continues to operate to this day.

Today, Gierisch Brothers Motor Company has been serving Roanoke and the surrounding communities for over 50 years and is one of the oldest businesses in Roanoke. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in January of 2016.

Carl's employees are not all related to him, but there are kin folk working for the company to this day.
